What is Microsoft Access?

Microsoft Access is a desktop database management system that is ideal for small and medium sized businesses (between 1-200 employees), but if the backend (the actual tables with data) is stored on some database server (such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, etc.), then the number of users can go up pretty much indefinitely.

 

Microsoft Access applications allow businesses to manage their daily operations. However, without a qualified MS Access programmer, MS Access can be quite tricky to use. That is where we come in.

Function & Beauty

Most people hear of MS Access and think of ugly, Windows 95 type applications. This is so far from reality. Microsoft Access offers so many design possibilities and beautiful, elegant applications can be developed.


While there are now MS Access compatible cloud options, such as MS Azure or Amazon RDS, which make your application available from anywhere, we don't recommend using them. We have tried every hosting service and the speed (to us) isn't acceptable.

If you want an application which you can access from anywhere, you should consider a web application instead.

    After all this information is gathered, you will get a write up of the future application functionality and the processes which can be automated. You will also get a quote and an approximate deadline for the project.


    The write-up (and the price and development time, in some cases) is preliminary in a sense that in our experience, 10 times out of 10, once a client sees a few drafts of the app, the functionality within it and the automation setups, their mind starts to work in the direction of "what else can be done to streamline my operations" and, in some cases, projects grow significantly, which affects the price and development time.

    But unless you decide you want some major add-ons, the price won't change. We always count on the clients asking for more stuff along the way and our quote reflects that.

     

    Once we agree to the terms, we will immediately begin working on your application. 

    There will be extensive communication throughout this process. We will ask many questions, show you drafts of the application, you will be asking questions as well. This communication ensures a better final product every time. 

    We use Zoom, it's an amazing tool with screen sharing and video options, which allows us to work as if we are sitting at the same computer.

     

    Once we have delivered and implemented your application, you have access to unlimited and free support from us. If new features need to be added, we can discuss prices and timelines for those as well.
